Obtaining a Russian Visa:

To obtain a Russian Visa please provide the Aerostar (Olga) with full passport details (Nationality, Number, Date and Place of Issue, Date of Expiration (You should have at least 6 months remaining on your Passport before expiration), Full Name, Date and Place of Birth, Occupation.

(It may help to simply fax a copy of the relevant detail pages of the passport to the Hotel.)

The Aerostar will FAX to the FAX NUMBER YOU PROVIDE, an “official” Letter of Invitation”.  You must then obtain the necessary application papers from the nearest Russian Embassy/Consulate.  Complete the required forms and submit them along with the Letter of Invitation, 2 copies of a recent passport photo, AND your passport.

While it costs a bit more you may wish to streamline this process and reduce the hassle by utilizing the services of a an experienced Passport/Visa Service.  They know precisely what is required and how to avoid becoming entangled in a bureaucratic run around. On the other hand if you have the time, enjoy the experience!

Remember if you plan to stay in Moscow for a few days after the conference, or go on to St Petersburg for sightseeing, you will require a letter invitation from the next hotel/location as well, to be submitted when seeking your Russian Visa.

If you need any further information or assistance send me an email or call me.

For those of you who live in the U.S. I have found the following Visa Service to be very quick and reliable and I recommend them to you.  A-1 Passport & Visa Express.  1411 K Street NW, Suite 805, Washington D.C. 20005  Phone 202-639-1500  Fax 202-639-9596  Email  samcarlo@aol.com  I recommend you telephone Sam (in the mornings usually better) and discuss your situation with him. He will fax you the necessary forms and begin the process.  It may cost a bit more but it’s worth it in my opinion.

Sorry I can not give any advice regarding Visa Services in the U.K and Europe.
